December 24. — The Moa Road Board held it usual monthly meeting on Monday night. There were present Messrs W. D. Thomson (chairman), Atkinson, Baker, A. Bishop, R. Mathews, S. B. Horrocks, and J. Surrey. i

Inward correspondence was read from the Bank of New Zealand, Waitara; Mr Richmond, re Mr H. Brown's rates; Crown Lands Commissioner; the General Survey Department, re native lands. — Four returned letters were received by the Board, viz., Messrs Allen, James, and two others.

An agreement between Mr H. Turner and the Board was read re the deviation of King Road through his land A letter was received from Mr Guy, of Bedford Koad, informing the Board that a bridge on that road was in a most dangerous state of being burnt, as there was a large quantity of dry underscrub and other material, and should this take fire it would be sure to destroy the bridge. The engineer was directed to have the state of the bridge seen to as soon as possible. — Moved by Mr Horrocks, seconded by Mr Surrey, " That Mr Schumacher be authorised to obtain Mr Turner's signature to the agreement.' Carried.

A letter was ruiwl from Mr Brough, contractor, oll'ering to gravel four or five chains on the York Koad for the sum of £2 17s fid per chain. It was moved by the Chairman, and seconded by Mr Horrocks, "That Mr Brough's offer be accepted." A letter was road from Mr Govett, Holicitor, and from Mr 0. Samuel re Bracegirdlc's deviation.

The Engineer reported to the Board that a part of tho Kimata Koad Bouth required some work done to it, which would cost about 20a.

Mr Ilorrocks gave notice of motion that lie would, atthe next meeting of the Board, propose a scheme whereby tlie Junction JRoad could be extended, so as to benefit all.

TenderH accepted — Liglitf oot and Surrey, Bedford Koad, £14 12h. Amount passed for payment, £98 Is 4d. This terminated the business.
