Sydney, December 2. Sir Henry Parkes has accepted Mr Gillies' suggestion that the representatives of New South Wales should meet ; the Federal Council and discuss the Federation question. The present contractor has abandoned his attempt at raising the steamer Centennial. Brisbane, December 2. The s.s. Koonoowarra collided with the s.s. Ranelagh near Maryborough. The latter had a great gap in her side, but her water-tight compartments prevented her sinking. One of the crew was jammed in a bunk, and, owing to a lamp bursting, was terribly burnt. The Koonoowarra is not seriously damaged.
