SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS WALTER GRIFFITHS.
On Sunday Mrs Griffiths, wife of Mr Walter Griffiths, a settler on the Barrett Road, expired suddenly about 1 o'clock. It appears that the deceased lady was confined about a fortnight ago, but had a quick recovery, and had been up and about for a few days previous to her death, and had quite recovered from her illness, to appearance. >he expressed herself as being in good health, and as never having felt better before. On Sunday, about one o'clock, she got up, and commenced to dress, chatting to her sister Mrs D. McAllum at the time. About 5 minutes afterwards she suddenly said "Oh I feel so faint," fell down, and apparently swooned off. She was at once got into bed, and Dr. Leatham was sent for. On the doctor's arrival he pronounced life extinct, and attributed death to embolism of the heart, a cloth of blood having lodged there and stopped the action of that organ. The death was a terribly sudden one.
