FIRE AT MANGANUI.

On Friday night a fire occurred at Manganui near the Railway Station, by which the dwelling house of a settler named John Mychewski was completely destroyed. Mi Mychewski was not at home at the time, but his wife and family were. Only a few pieces of furniture were rescued from the flames which spread rapidly. The cause of the fire is not known, but it is considered to have originated in a fire place where the remains of a fire smoulded when the family retired. The building ie insured in the South British Office for £125, and the furniture in the same office for £25.
