Melbourne, September 9. The dook labourers' iund has reaohed £6800. Stdnet, September 9. The barque Hesper reports that the barque Garston, from Sydney to San Francisco, was wrecked at Starbuck Island. The mate and twenty of the crew reaohed Humphrey Island. The Hesper offered to take ten of the men, and waited fourteen hours for a reply, but the men apparently deoided not to separate. The captain aud nine of the orew are missing. William Dobell and two boys have been murdered at tbe Solomon Islands. Dobell's brother was murdered recently.
