The Counoil, by resolution, request the Imperial Government to pass the Enabling Bill, and asks the Legialatures of the various colonies ' to assist in getting that colony representative institutions. Melboubne, July 29. Writs have been issued against Mr. Lefevre for £13,000, and Mr. Butters for £5000, (or Bitting in Parliament without being properly qualified. The latter was recently unseated. Two men, named Murphy and Watson, have been killed, being almost decapitated by a lift accident in the Palace tiotel. Sydney, July 29. The Telegraph, in an article on the improvement of the industrial and commercial position of New Zealand, says it was brought about almost wholly by agricultural expansion, coming concurrently with a profitable market in Australia.
