Stdnet, Jane 29.— The flagship Orlando, under Admiral Fairfax, will sail at daylight on Sunday morning, on an extended cruise to New Zealand, and on her way a sharp lookout will be kept for the miaeineH.M 8 Dart. H.M.S. Lizard, which arrived from an Island cruise a da> or two aa;o, will in all probability bo ordered to start in Bearoh of H.M.S. Dart. At first Admiral Fairfax held an opinion that the boat found on tho northern coast of New Zealand gave little cause for anxiety as to the fate of H.M.S. Dart, but her non-arrival here has led him to believe tbat possibly some accident may have happened, and he has decided to make a search.

The Dart is clawed in the navy list as a screw ■nrreying vessel of 470 tons, and 200 horse-power. She first arrived in Auckland on January 23 last, after an extended cruise in the New Hebrides and ronnd tha New Gninea coait, being theft under Commander Field. She carried two rifled 9-ponnder Armstrongs, and a couple of Qatlin? gans. Her mean speed under steam alone was about seven knots but being speedy under sail, the aid of her canvas made ter maximum rats equal to 13J knotß. She was originally built to the order o£ Lord Eglinton as a pleasure yacht, but Was afterwards purchased by the Government of Fiji for Sir Arthur Gordon. In 1882 she was sold to tha British Government and commissioned forsurvey work. Her term of lervice having expired on her arrival her© she was recom missioned at Auckland, and ia March last her relief crew was brought from Sydney in H.M.S. Orlando. Her present ship's company comprises Lieutenant and Commander G. O. Frederick, Lieutenants Herb. J. Gedge, T. Somerville, W. P. Dawson, V. P. Webb, Surgeon W. M. Rae, Engineer W. J. Mabb, Paymaster M. W. Sulivan, and 5i seamen.
