{From Modern Truth.)
The .preat success and popularity of an article bai nov» been confirmed by a Post Cnrd Competition inaugurated by The Chemist and Druggist, a copy of_ which reaches nearly every dealer in medicine in the United Kingdom, the colonies, the Continent, and in the United States. Tbe pnblishere recently conceived the idea of ascertaining from the trade the roost popular preparationf or outward application now being manufactured and sold. With this object in view they invited a post card competition, each dealer to name tbe preparation which was most popular with bis customers. The publishers received 635 post cards w"th tbe following results :—: — 8- Jacobs OU 384 Elliman'a Embrocation ... 172 Holloway's Ointment ... 32 Alcock's Porous PUnsters ... 19 Bow's Linioient 7 Perry Davis' Pain Killer ... 7 Vaseline . - - ..► ... - 4 Cuticara ' ' 2 while eight other outward applications had one vote each. It will thus be seen that St. Jacobs Oil was named by 384 different dealers as being tbe most popular remedy, leaving 251 (less than half) to be divided among 15 other remedies ; showing conclusively that St. Jacobs Oil to-day standß preeminent among all other proprietary medicines for outward application. In fact, tbe sales are more than double those of any ether proprietary medicine in the world, and 10 times greater than those of all other liniments aud embrocations.
This wonderful enccess rests on the solid foundation of merit (acknowledged everywhere). St. J»cobs Oil is endorsed by statesmen, jplge's, the clergy, the medical profession, an well as by people in tvery walk o£ life. The curative powers of St. Jacobs Oil are simply marvellous. It has cured people who have been crippled with P'lio for moie than 20 years. Atter the most thorough and practical test, St. Jacobs Oil has leceived Six G/old Medals at different international exhibitions for its" marvellous power to couqaer puia.
