The Stratford Dairy l*'uctory oml Produce Co. don't intend to lot the grass grow under their feet. I hear the Chairman of Directors expects to make a start in about v fortnight, which will bo uncommonly smart work, seeiDg that the question of site ia still undecided. The undertaking ia meeting with very fair eupporl, there being now about thirty ebaieholderp, representing some 250 cowh. Mr T. Meredith Smith in Chairman of the Company, wilh Mr 11. N. Liardet as lion. Sec. Another railway turvey party >s going in from here kh food db the weather moderate?, the Government evidently intending that a thorough job shall be made this time. The rough country met will) FOtnc '60 milts in cannot he t-o bod SB wub tbousht, as I hear Mr Roes i 6 cutting a pock track right through so that stores pa» Jao p^ked to \ho party pow

going in, who are to take up tb« work where left off at the nothern end, and bring the levels through to join the work done on this side. It is now no secret that the Mimi route is condemned.

I would again call attention to the Dramatic Club's entertain ment on Wednesday next. There ought to be a full house, the Club having done good service both in providing amusement and in helping to raise funds for a number of public institutions that from time to time have had occasion for its services. The scenery badly wants renewing, und there are Beveral other matters that will take a little money to place on a satisfactory footing. The Club has been successful in arranging a very good programme for the musical portion of the evening. Dancing is to begin soon after ten o'clock, the floor will receive special attention, and the ladies are looking after the supper. I need say no more.
