Tho market has been relieved of the heavy stocks offarei at low rates, and the price hs risen to £10 16s. Several buyers have beei waiting for this stock to touch bobom, and are nov too late to get in. C/lomals are hardening, and find buyers at 445. Loin and Mercantile have been in demand, and have gone up to 81s. South British are wante iat 47s 6d, A parcel of Westport Coal shares offered last week at 553 were taken at the price, A smill lot of New ' Zealand Insurance shares are offered at market rale by a local teller. National Mortgage and Agency snares have advanced Is on previous quotations. Four £50 Waitara Harbonr Board 7 per cent, debentures ara in the market. This is a portion of tbe first small loan of £3000, which is a first charge on alf revenue* of the Board. Taranaki Iron shares are wanted at 2s 9d.
