TE WHITI ON THE EUROPEAN SITUATION.

The native chief Parahi, of Pukake, who has just returned to Auckland from the Parihaka March meeting, has been interviowed by a Star reporter. Paruhi waa the leader of the iMangere ploughing obstruction some two years ago, is a disciple of Te Whiti, and a Btaunch believer in his fanatical prophecies. He states to the reporter that Te Whiti bas .Bent forth an edict to tli9 effect that there is not the slightest chance of a war in Europe ; that the concentration of the Raßßian forces on the different frontiers is merely an exhibition of the strength of that na' ion, but that Russia's idea of war is all mimingn, r.ud this warlike display is only intendsd to arouse the energy aud watchfulness of all nations for the coming of Christ, which is to take place in the year 1889 (next year); that the present reigning monarcha of all countries, nil Governors of colonies, and Presidents of Republics will die at onee — the Emperor William of Germany being ibe fiist on the list; and that the world will be ruled by onp king only, viz , the King of Kings. The prophet further says " That Ireland is quite right in the action taken by her people, but their grievance will bo settled next year on the coming of Christ, as Ec will cause Land Ooarts to be held in Ireland, and will havo the land equally divided amongst the people." In proof of these prophecies Purahi is to fetch our reporter over his Paipera and Kawenatn, and point out in the Book of David passagtß confirmatory of all Te Whiti baa stated on tiie subject. Te Whiti is to receive timely notice as to the exact day o£ Christ's coming, and Parahi has promised to communicate the 1 information to the Auckland Star in time for publication on the evening previous.
