FRAUD IN MEAT SELLING IN ENGLAND, In the House of Commons last ; night, Mr Harrington, M.P., asked the Government if it was not possible to devise some means whereby a stop might be put to the praotioe of selling imported meat as English. In reply, Lord Onslow, Political Secretary to the Trade of Board, suggested that the vendors should be prosecuted by the people to whom they made the false presentation. ANOTHER PENSIONER. Sir W. C. Sargeant, Crown Agent for the Colonies, retires on a pension. SL. ANOTHER RIOT IN IRELAND. Dublin, Madoh 24. The police prevented W. O'Brien, M.P. for Cork, from addressing a meeting at Yonghal, which had been proclaimed. There' was serious rioting, and Captain Plunket, a magistrate, was brutally assaulted before the crowd was dispersed. Subsequently O'Brien addressed a few of bis supporters in Canon Kellar's stable. DEFEAT OF BOULANGER AT THE ELECTIONS. Pabis, March 24. The Marseilles eleotion resulted in the return of M. F. Pyat, who polled upwards of 40,000 votes. General Boulanger did not sucoeed in obtaining 1000 votes. HEALTH OF EMPEROR IMPROVItTG. Berlin, March 24. The health of the Emperor is improving, and the agitation of the larynx is considerably reduced. LATE EMPEROR'S FORTUNE. The late Emperor left over fifty millions of marks. A larger portion increases the Crown Treasury, and the balance has been left to his wife, Emperor Frederick, and the Grand Dnohesß of Baden. .PRINCE REGENT TO ACT FOR BMPBBOK. Berlin, March 25. The Emperor has issued a proclamation in which he states that Prince William should become acquainted with State offices, and also that he should take immediate part therein. Therefore, certain matters ought to be entrusted to him in order that he might act as the Emperor's substitute should occasion require it. RECEPTION OF THE QUEEN IN ITALY. Home, March 24. The Italian Press and public warmly greeted Her Majesty the Queen on her arrival at Florence.
