OREAT EXOITEMENI IW WALgS | . .bout a marveilou3 core ] iviug Six Years Wixhout Going To Bed. MR. EDITOR, — While epanding a few daye at tho pleasaut seaside town of Aborystwith, Cnrdigansbiro, Wales, I heard related what seemed to me either a fabu'ous ptory or a marvellous cure. The ftory waa that a poor sufferer who had not boon ablo to Jie down in bod for six long years, given up to die by bII the Doctors, had been speedily cured byifomo Patent Medicine. It was rolatod with the more implioit oonfidenoe from the circumstance, as was paid, that the Vicar of Llanrysfcyd was familiar with the facts, and could vouch for the tmth of tho report. Having a little curiosity to know how suoh stories grow in travelling, I took the liberty while at tbe village of Ltanrystyd to call upon .the Vioar the JXev. T. Bvana, and to enquire about this wonderful cure, Though a total etrant er to him, both he and his wife most e^raoiously entertained me in a half hour's conversation, principally touching tho case of Mr. Pugh, in whioh they seemed to take a deep and sympathetic interest, having been familiar with his sufferings, and now rejoiced in what seemed to them a most remarkable cure. The Vicar remarked thatjhe presumed his name had been conneoted with the report from his having mentioned the case to Mr. John Thomas, a chemist of Llanon. He said Mr. Pagh was formerly a resident of their, parish, but was now living in the parish of Llanddeinol. lie strongly vouohed Mr. Wm. Pugh'a ohaiaoter as a respectable farmer and worthy of crodii. I left the venerable Vioar with a livelier cense of the happy relation of a pastor and people, feeling that he was one who truly sympathised with all who are afflicted in mind, body, and estate. On my return to Aberystwith, I was impressed with a desire to see Mr. Pugh, whose reputation stood so high. His farm is oaitod Pancom* Ma wr, signifying '• above the dinglo," situated ne&r tho sammit of a smooth round hill, overlooking a boautifal va'ley iv which is s'tuated the lovely ivy-muntle i Church of Llanddeinol. I found Mr. Pugh, appall tly about 40 years old. of medium heig t. rather slight, with a plea* ant and intelligent faoa, I told him I has h«?a»d of his- great affliction and of his remarkable and almost miraouk ■ s relief, and tbat I bad come to learn from hta own lip 3, what thore wag of truth in the reports. Mr. Pugh remarked that hio noi s hboure had taken a kindly and S) mpnthotic interest in bis case f;r taAoy years, bnt of late their interest had been greatly awakened by a happy change in hia condition. What you report of having heard abroad, said he, is substantial^ true, with one exception, I never understood that my case was ever given up a3 hopeless by any Physioiau. I have been treatad by several,, Doctors hereabouts, as good as any in Wales but unfortunately no prescription of theirs ever brought the desired relief. Fifteen yoars ago, he said, I first became conscious of a sour and deranged stomaoh and loss of appetite, whioh the Doctors told me was Dyspepsia, What food I could hold in my stomach seemed to do mo no good and was often thrown np with painful retchings. Thi3 was followed after a time with hoarseneßß and n raw soreness of the throat whioh the Dootors called bronchitis, and I was treated for that but with little success. Then came shortness of breath and a sense of suffocation, especially nights, with olammy sweat, nad i would have to go out of bed nad eomvtimos open a door or window in winter weathor to fill my lunga with the oold air. About Bix years ago I became so bad that I oould not sleep in bed. bnt had to take my unquiet rt- st and dreamy sleep fitting in an armchair. My affliotion eeemed to be working downward into my bowels aa well as upwards into my lungs and tteroat, Ii the violent coughing spasms whioh grew more frequent, my abdomen would expand and collapse and at times it would seem that I should auffooato. All this time I was reduoed in strength bo that I could perform so hard labour and my spirits wero consequently much depressed. Burly in this last Bpring I had a still moro severe spaßoiodio-attaok, and my family and neighbours became alarmed, bolieviag that certainly I would not survive, when a neighbour, who had some knowledge, or had heard of the medloine, sent to Aberystwith by tho driver ot *he Omnibus Poßt, some seven miieß difltand, and fetched a bottle of Mother deigeVa Curative Syrup, This modioine they administrated to me according to the directions, when to their surprise nnd delight no less than my own, the spasm ceased, I became at case, and my stomaoh calmed, My bowels were moved as by a gentle cathortio, and I felt a sense of quiet comfort all through suoh as I had not before realized in many years I conld walk around tho house and breathe comfortably in a few hours after I had taken the medicine. I havo continued to tako tho medicine daily now for something over two months, and I oan lay down and Bleep sweetly at nights and havo notsiace had a recurrence of those terrible spasms and sweatlrgs. I have been so loug broken down and reduoed in my whole system that I have not tried to perform any very hard out-door labour, deeming it best to bo prudent leßt by over-exejtion I may do mjeolf injury before my strength ia fully restored , I feel that my stomach and bowola havo boon and are being thoroughly renovated and renewed by the medicine, In fact x feel like a new man, I have boen much congratulated by my neighbours, especially by the good Vioar of [ilanryßtydj who with his syoipnthetio wife have oome three miles to shed tears of joy on my recovery, I bade Mr, Pugh goodbye, happy that even one at least among thousands had fraud a remedy for an aggravating disease. Relieving this remarkable case of Dyspeptic Asthma should bo known to the public, I . beg to submit the above foots aa they ore rela xl to me, tfttfbirbsp 7,7, w (
