TOWN BOARD. [FROM OUR OWN CORRLSPOfIDBNT.j The usual monthly tneetingof tbe Inglewood Town Boaid was held in. the Board's offica on the 12th December, 1887. Present : Messrs. J. 0. Poach (obairman), G. S. Kennedy, and W~. Marsh. Lease of Section. — The clerk was instructed to write Mr Priest for reply as to rent of section, &c; also to got Mr H, Brown's account for timber for Knraputi bridtre to charge the same to tho Moa ( Road Board. Bogged in Richmond- street. — A letter was read from Mr. Broadmore re cow being bogged in mudhole in Richnaondatreet. — The Clerk was directed to acknowledge the letter, and .to inform him that the matter would be ' attended, to as soon &z. possible; and the Works Committee were instructed to look to it; also some other ' works which were thought necessary. Damaging Property. — A .letter was read from Mr John King that the Peach Road work had filled np the stream and destroyed his log fence; and asking the Board's assistance to make good' the fence and stop his oattle from getting out.— The Works Committee W3re told to do what they consider reasonable for Mr. King. Collector's Report. — The collector's statement for November, 1887, , was read. James-street,— lt was proposed by Mr. Marsh, and seconded by Mr. Kennedy, " That the extent of .formation and metal- , ling' in JameS-stfeet be' fen" chains ; nnd that, if necessary,- ihe "funds of the Government loan account be supplemented by ordinary revenue, to pay for the contraot, such amount to be refunded by the Government loan account to the ordinary revenue if sucb refund be not illegal." Rent of Cottages. — It was resolved, " That Mr. Gilmour be served with notice that, unless ho fulfill the conditions in which tbe Board agreed to let him remain in tho cottage , by paying off a month's arretirs each mouth, aa well as current rent, he must leave the cottage at once ; and that T. Hopkinson aud J. Hopkinson be served with notice to pay rent for the future (monthly), and pay off the arrears of their rents oy arrangement to be approved of by the Board." — The Clerk was instructed to write and inform thess two tenant? that they must pa/ monthly, or the matter will be repo:tnd by the Collector to the Board at its nest meeting. Accounts. — Accounts to the amount of £3 10s. sd. were passed for payment. This concluded the business.
