TARANAKI LAND, BUILDING, AND INVESTMENT SOCIETY.
The annual meeting oE this Sociel y was held on Tuesday evening, when, in the absence of Mr. T. King, Mr. Cock was voted to tbe chair. The following: report and balance-sheet was laid on the tab'e :— REPORT. The Directors have tbe honour to present the Twenty-secona Annual Statement of Acconnts to the members. Notwithstanding the depression which has continued during the year, the Directois are gratified to be in a position to report that after providing for the payment of "X " ond " V" Serieß they have placed a dividend equivalent to 8 per cent, to the credit of all the members, and carried £23 14s. lOd. to the Reserve Fund. Applications for advances on 208 shares were received during the year, of which 52 were granted, and 156 declined. Messrd. D. Shuttleworth and J. T. Davis were tbe two Directors to retire by rotation ; in the absence of any nominations they retain their seats on the Board. The meeting will have to elect two Auditors ; Messrs. J. S. McKellar and E. H. Tribe, who retire, are eligible, and offer themselves for re-election. T. King, Chairman.
