AUSTRALIAN TELEGRAMS. Adelaide, October 17. The strike of wharf hands has been resumed, owing to the members of the Union objecting to work with the nonunionists. Sydney, October 17. A public meeting, convened to discuss the best means of rendering assistance to Sir Henry Parkes iv his financial difficulties, took place tonight. The hall was crammed with a most enthusiastic audience, all parliamentary parties being represented , by those who addressed the meeting. Upwards of £1,500 was subscribed, or promised, in the room.
