The following ere the conditions : — Mr. hENBY WjkSTON, proprietor of tha Taeanaki Hebald and Tub Budget, will give a prize of £5 6s for the best sample of WOOD TAR produced from native timbers growing in the Counties of Taranak-, Clifton, or Hawera, the quantities exuibited to consist of not less than thirty gallons, in a cask of local manufacture. Each exhibit to be accompanied by a clear description of the process adopted in its manufacture, and estimate of cost of productioa. Five gallons of the prize exhibit to be available for analysis and trade tests. Mb. F. P. Cobkilili will give a prize of £5 5a for the best sample of r OI'ASH, produced from native timbers growing in the Counties of Tarnnaki, Clifton, or iiawera, the quantity exhibite 1 to consist of not less than one hundredweight, put up in packages of local manufacture.
