Madame Goldsohmidt (Jenny Lind) who has been seriously ill for some time past, is sinking fast, but is almost free from pain. ' SULTAN OF MOROCCO RECOVMtIISfG. An official communication has been received from Metzninez (Morocco) I contradicting the reported death of the Sultan, and stating that His Majesty has been indisposed, but is now recovering. REGULATIONS FOR SUEZ CANAL. It is announced that Prince Bismarck and Signor Orispi, at their recent interview, were completely agreed upon the Suez Conal question, and that henceforth Germany, England and Italy will adopfc uniform resolutions regarding the canal. SUBSCRIPTIONS TO THE IMPERIAL INSTITUTE. London, Ootober 10. A memorandum published by the Committee of the Imperial Institute states that tho total subscriptiona received in aid of the Institute amount to upwards of the assistance received from India and the various Colonies being considered extremely satisfactory. It is the intention of the Committee to make an application for a grant of Royal Charter for the Institute. The memorandum also states that the contract for the construction of the foundations of the building have been conoluded. ANOTHER STATUE OF QUEEN, A bronze replica of Boehm's Sydney statue of Her Majesty the Queen, for which money was subscribed by the tenantry at Balmoral; has been unveiled by the Prince w of Wales, in the presence of Her Majesty. Nli-W ZEALAND COMPANIES. The New Zealand Antimony Company has been floated privately, The Syndicate that purchased the Blue Spur Mining Company in Otago intend to offer a portion of the amount to the public WHEAT FIBMER. The wheat market is firmer, but business inactive. Russian, American, and Indian consignments are dearer. An Australian off-coast oargo has been sold at 30s 9d. New crops to arrive in December and January, have been sold for shipment from London at 32s 3d. Wheat, on spot, shows an advance of 6d. New Zealand longberried is quoted at from 31s to 335. The American supply is much reduced. GERMANY COMPENSATING FRANCS. Paris, October 8. Count Munster, the German Ambassador, has handed a sum of 50,000 marks (£2,500) to M. Fiourens as compensation to the widow of the gamekeeper who was shot on the Franco-German frontier. Count Munster, in tendering the amount, expressed the deep regret of the German Government at the deplorable accident. RETURN OF ITALIAN MINISTER FROM GERMANY Rome, October 8. Signor Orispi, Premier, haß returned to this city. the bulgarian;;elections. Sofia, October 10.
The eleotions for the new Sobranje has resulted in favor of the present Government, M. Stambouloff's supporters having been returned by a large majority. Great enthusiasm prevails throughout the city. Prince Ferdinand and M. Stambouloff have received ovations from the populace.
