They were seized on account of alleged under-valuation on the invoice. The Oastoms have power in such cades to sell goods and pay the owner the invoioe price with 10 per cent, added, they taking the risk of the auction price not reaching the owner's valuation. A STRANGE LAWSUIT. Auckland, September 24. Borne time ago a lad named Howard whilst passing the shop of Huhne i accidentally struok a fowl exposed for sale. Hulme thinking he intended to steal, rushed out of his shop and seized Howard, who fell on the pavement, sustaining concussion of the brain. He was removed to asylum, where he still remains, and it is stated the parents of the youth havo issued a writ of £200 damages against Hulme. ACTION FOX SLANDER. Mr. J. S. Hannen, a local draper, has instructed his solicitor to institute an aotion for slander Mr. D. Goldie, a candidate for Auckland West.
