VICTORIA AS EMPRESS OF INDIA.
Tne Indinn durbar in tho Green Drawingroom at Windsor on Thursday, the 30tb ( June, was attended, the World says, with all the pomp and circumstance likely to j captivate the Oriental imagination. Tbe j Queen, wearing her Indian orders, stood on a piece of cool Indiun matting; the Duke and Duchess of Connaught were at her side; and the glittering nuzzurs, or, presents, were arranged effectively on a table. Tho processions were marshalled in St. George's Hall. Holkar was gorgeously arrayed in green and gold, with a "pink turban, and the Rao of Cutoh wore a i robe of many colours and his matchless ! emeralds on his turban. The Thakur of Movi, in white and gold, was particularly pleased with his reception; and so were the Thakur of Gondal (a medical student nt Edinburgh) nnd the Thakur of Limri, who ' also carried off a X.C.S.I. Tbe Hyderabad Nawabs got nothing (the Nawab Asman Jah looked very well in his black and gold uniform); tbe Rajah of Kuoh Behar (accompanied by his wife) was in gold and velvet; and the Gaiokwar of Baroda's brother (an Oxford undergraduate) in blue velvet and pearls. The Bhurtpore warriors excited much attention in their characteristic turbans.
