ALBERT ROAD SCHOOL,
TO THE EDITOR Sib, — In an article headed "Egmont School Distriot," the writer makes the following statement: — "We have grave reasons for believing that one or more schools in the Egmont District will be closed on the recommendation of the Com* mittee." I wish to say a few words with, respect to one of the four, viz., the Albert Road School, and also about the Albeit Road district. This school is situated in the centre of the road, i.e., it is If miles from the main road, and nearly one mile and a-half from the top of the road. The Hill Road joins the' Albert Road close to the school; up this road there are two families at present located, and they have between them eeven children above five and under fifteen. Another family is intending to settle there shortly — this family numbers two children of school age at the present tune, I understand. In this district the settlers are mostly people who are struggling to buy the land on which they are settled— not people who can afford horses to convey their children ta eohool. — I am, &c, A Little Voice.
