GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NEW ZEALAND.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Friday, May 20. — The Council met at 2.30 p.m. Mr. Johnijon presented a report from the Joiut Libiary Committee, stating that circulars, periodicals, etc., be handed to tho Colonial Secretary for distribution among tho charitable institutions of the colony. He gave notice to move on Wecln D sd",y the adoption of the report. The Employment of Femaleß and Othora Act Amendment Bill was thrown out by 13 to 12. The Counoil adjourned at 3.50 p.m. till Wednesday afternoon.
