GREAT EXCITEMENT IN WALES .-bout a marvellous cure. I iviug Six Years Without Going To Bed. MB. EDITOR,— WhiIe spending a few days at the pleasant seaside town of Aberystwith, Cardiganshire, Wales, I heard related what seemed to me either a fabu'ous story or a marvellous oure. The t-tory was tbat a poor sufferer who had not been able to lie down in bed for six long years, given up to di 6by all the Doctors, had been speedily cured by some Patent Medicine. It was related with the more implicit confidence from the oiroutnstano*, as was said, that the Vioar of Llanrystyd was familiar with the facts, and could vouch for the t.uth of the report. j ' r : Slaving a littlo curiosity to know how such stories grow in travelling, I took tht liberty while at the village of Lianrystyd to call upon the Vicar, the llev. T. Evanß, and to enquire about this wonderful cure, - Thnagh a total Btrsnj, er to him, both he and hiswife most rfraoiously entertained me in & half hour's conversation, principally touohiug the oaseof Mr. Pagh, iv which they seemed to take a deep and sympathetic interest, having baen familiar with his sufferings, and now rejoiced in what seemed to them a most remarkable cure. The Vioar remarked that he presumed his name had been oonneoted with the report from his having mentioned the case to Mr. John Thomas, a ohemist of Lla' no . He said Mr. Pagh was formerly a resident of their parieh, but was now living in the parish of Llanddeinol. Be strongly vouched tfr. Wm. Pagh 'a character as a respectable farmer aad worthy of credit. I left the venerable Vioar with a livelier rente of (he happy relation of a pastor and people, feeling that he waso a who truly sympathised with all who are afflicted in mind, body, and estate. ' - On my return to Aberystwitb. I was impressed with a desire to see Mr. Fugh, whose reputation stood co high. His farm is called l'aucom-M»wr,Bignifying '• above the dingle," situated near the summit of a smooth round hill, overlooking a beautiful valley in which is situated the lovely ivy-mantle 1 -Church of Llanddeinol. I found Mr. Fugb, appareatly about 40 years old, of medium heigat. rather slight, with a pleasant and intelligent face. I told him I had heard of his great affliction and of his remarkable and almost miraculous relief, and that I had come to learn from his own lips, what there was of in the reports. Mr. Pagh remarked that his neighbours had-taken a kindly and sympathetic interest in bis case for many years, but of late their interest had been greatly awakened 'by a happy change in hla condition. What you report of having heard abroad, Baid he, is substantially true, with one exception, I never understood that my case was ever given up as hopelem by any Physioiau, I have been treated by several Doctors hereabouts, qb good as any in Wales but unfortunately no prescription of theirs ever brought the desired relief. Fifteen years ago, he said, I first beoame ooDßoious of a bout and deranged Btomaoh and loss of appetite, whioh the Dootors told me was Dyspapsia. What food I could hold in my stomach eeemed to do me no good and was often thrown np with painful retchings. This was followed after a time with hoarseness and a raw soreness of the throat whioh the Doctors called bronohitis, and I w&b treated for that but with little success, Then came shortness of breath and a sense of suffocation especially nights, with clammy sweat, aadi would have to go out of bed and sometimes onen a door or window in winter weather to fill my lungs with the cold air. . . About six years ago I became so bad that I could not a : eap in bed. hut had to take my unquiet rest and i>renmy sleep Bitting in an armchair. A- y affliotion seemed to be working downward into my bowels as well as upwards into my lungs and tUroat. Ia the violent coughing spasms whioh grew more frequent, my abdomen would expand and collapse afid at timos it would seem that I should auffooate. AH this time I was reduood in strength co that I could perform bo hard labour and my spirits were consequently much depressed. fiarlv in this last spring I had a still more severe spasmodic-attack, and my family and neighbours beoame alarmed, believiag that certainly I would not survive, when a neighbour, who had some knowledge, or had heard of the medioine, sent to Aberjstwith by tho driver ot the Omnibus Post, somosevon miles distand, and fetched a bottle of Mother SeigeVd Curative Syrup. This medioine they administrated to me according to the directions, when to their surprise and delight no less than my own, the spasm ceased, I bebarre at ease, and my stomach calmed, My bowels were moved as by a gentle oathartio, and I felt a senne of quiet comfort all through such as I had not neforo realized in many yo.us, I oon'd walk arourd the house end breaths comfortably lv a few hours after I had taken the medicine. I have continued to take the medioiae daily now for gomothimr over two mouths, ' and I can lay down and sleep swestly at nlghb and have not eiaot had areourrenoeof those terriile spasms and sweatirgs. I have been so (o'jg broken down and reduced in my ' whole system that I have not tried to prr'orm any very hard out-door labour, dee&iug it best to be prudent lest oy over-exertion I may do myself iojury before my stre Is fully restored - I feel that my stomao 1 and bowels have been and are being thoroughly renovated and renewed by the modioine. In fact I feel like a new man. I have been muoh congratulated by my neighbours, especially by the good Vio&r of Llanrystyd, who with his Byrapulhetio wife have come three miles to shod tears of joy oa my recovery, I bade Mr. Pugh goodbye, happy tbSt even one at least among thousands had foaud a remedy for an aggravating disease, Believing this remarkablo ca?e of Dyspeptic Asthma should be known to *he public, I beg to submit the above faota a« they are related to me. •352 h wbap F.
