WAIIII ROAD BOARD. [FROM" OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] The. -first 'meeting of theWnihi Road Bonrd was held on September 9th, 1888, in the Clifton County Council office, Waitara, at 11 a.m. Present: Messrs. J. D. Baker, \\ . Black, J. Hine, and J. Rattenbury. — The clerk appointed by the Council presided, and read the eleption of member?, and called on them to elect a chairman for the Board. — It was proposed by Mr. Baker, and seconded by Mr. Hine. and carried, " That Sir. J. Rattenbury be the chairman- of the Waihi Road Board." — The Chairman ..stated .that the first thing to be done would bo to ask a committeo of tho Tikorangi Road Board to meet a committee of them re liabilities, &c. They might also appoint a clerk pro tern. — Mr. Black proposed, and Mr. lline seconded, and it was carried, " That Mr. G. Bertiand be appointed clerk to the Board pro tern". — It was resolved, " That tho clerk writo to tho Tikorangi Koad Board asking them to appoint a committee of: thoir Board to meet v cominUti-c o£ the Waihi Road Board ro liabilities, &c, and to appoint tiino and place." C'aniod. — It svas proposed by Air. lline, und sooonded by Mr. Black, " That this meeting stands adjourned until Thursday, Sept. '16, 1880, nt'2 p.m." Carried.— The Board rose. '

(2") Forest reserves, including plantations, felling- shall bo by periodic selection or by rotation of Area, at tho discretion of the Chief Conservator.
