SHIP IN DISTRESS.

The schooner Janet Ramsay put into the port of New Plymouth in distress, on Thursday night, seeking shelter from the weather and with the object of obtaining supplies. She is bound for Waitara from Lytteltoin, which port she left a month ago, with; a cargo of producO. She has had a very rough time of it so far, and'wns nearly driven ashore at Albatross Point, hear Mokau, last Thursday. Most of her cargo has-been -destroyed 'by" the water, and much of it 1 bad been thrown overboard before she arrived .at the breakwater. She' will probably proceed onward to Waitara to-night. • ;
