THE WAKATIPU AT THE BREAKWATER.

Tim Union Steamship Company's Wakatipu arrived at tho breakwater this morning at half-past nine, and was berthed alongside. She left Wellington at about 4 p.m. on Friday, and would have arrived here earlier but for the thick weather, which necessitated her going under easy steam for fear she might pass the port lisjht. If she had arrived at eight o'clock thero would have been sufficient water at tho breakwater for her to have been berthed. Her cargo from the south for Sydney consists o£ about 900 tons, [including 400 kegs butter (which sho ha 1 collected nt tin way ports), 47 horses, 5 cowb, and a quintityof produce, such aa oats, bran, potatoes, etc. From New Plyir.ou'h tho Wakalipu takes 37 hor.scs, about 500 kegs of butter, and a sin. ill qintity of general produce. To save delay, therefore, iho last half-dozen wero driven aboard loose, over a staging, nnd were to be stowed after the vessel left. The Wakatipu sailed for Sydney at 2.30 o'clock.

Tho owners of prcpeity at Waitara are cautioned by Mr. Corkill in another column not to effect insurances in the Union Company with anyone but himself.
