HOSPITAL BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Hospital Board was held on Monday. Present : His Worship the Mayor (Chairman), Yen. Archdeacon Govett, and Messrs. Parris and King Improvements to Hospital, — A letter was read from the Colonial Secretary re the application of the Board for improvements to be effected at the hospital. The Colonial Secretary requested the Board to furnish an estimate of the cost, together with a plan of the proposed alterations, for his approval. — It was resolved, " That a plan and estimate be sent to the Colonial Secretary, accompanied by an urgent request that the improvements be effected. Steward's Salary. — A letter was received from the Colonial Secretary stating that it appeared to him that the Hospital Steward is already well paid 2or his services, anu the Go\ eminent were, therefore, unable to comply wit'i the recommendation of the Board to increase the Steward's salary. Visiting Governor. — Hia Worship the Mayor was appointed Visiting Governor for tlie month of October. Accounts. — The usual monthly accounts were passed for payment, after which the Board adjourned.
