LAND BOARD.

The Land Board met on Monday. Present : Tho Chief Commissioner (in the chair), Messrs. Crompton, Kelly, Standish, and Syme. Closed Road. — Tho Ranger reported on an application made by J. Wills to purchaso part of the closed road in the Fitzroy District. He reported that ho saw no objection to two portions of tho Uoldsworthy Itoad — 15 chains and 30 links, and 11 chains and 6 links — being sold to Mr. Wills, but an application for another portion of the road had been mude by Mr. Solo, and it would bo necessary to put this portion up to auction. He valued the land at £5 per acre. Mr. Solo applied for another portion of tho closed road, lying between sections 18 and 19, in length about 31 chains. — It was resolved, on the motion of Mr. Standisii, seconded by Mr. Kelly, " That the portion of land applied for by J. Wills be sold to him at tho price recommended, and that the portion between sections 18 and 19 bo sold to Mr. Solo." Defaulters. — The following list of persons who had made default in payment of their instalments was laid before the Board :—: — W. Carter, section 204, Moa ; Thos. Cox, section 13, lluiroa ; G. Borserini, section 21, Huiroa ; D. Morarti, section 20, Huiroa; J. Stitter, section 27, Huiroa ; Carlo Turchi, section 35, Huiroa ; William Johnson, sections 55 and SG, Ngairo ; IT. R. Jury, section 36, Huiroa ; Thos. Lee, Boction 22, Huiroa. — It was decided that the defaulters bo notified to show cause why their holdings should not be declared forfeited.

Road Re-opened. — Mr. Kelly said that it was desirable that the closed road leading from the Barrett Road to section 1, Omata, should be re-opened, as it formed aa outlet to the Harbour Board reserves at Moturoa. lie moved, " That the road be re-opened," which was seconded by Mr. Standish, and carried. Transfer. — The application of Job Harrison to transfer section 18, block (5, Ngairo, to John Orr was agreed to. Kate Thomas applied to transfer section 250, Moa District, to Joseph Geoghegan, which was adjourned. Completion of Purchase. — The following persons were allowed to complete the purchase of their respective sections : — John Snowball, section 26 and 27, Moa ; Peter Peterson and Rasmus Lausen, section 214, Huimngi. Purchase of Sections. — Tho following applications to purchase land were allowed: — John Vickers, sections 25 and 26, Manganui, containing 44 and 52 acres respectively ; James Bruce, section 11, Eltham Village Settlement.
