ST. MARY'S SUNDAY SCHOOL.

The half-yearly meeting of St. Mary's Sunday School was held in the schoolroom, Vivian-street, on Monday, the 17th instant. The tables for the tea were well laid out by Mrs. Phillips, Miss Hunter, Miss A. Smith, Miss Govett, and other ladies ; and were made still prettier by Miss Webster's nicely arranged flowerß. The room presented quite a cheerful ap pearance at 6 -p.m., when about tnirty persons sat down to tea. At 7.30, the business portion of the meeting was commenced, the Yen. Archdeacon Govett presiding. The Organ Committee presented a very ' favourable balance-sheet, which showed a total, from all sources, of £61 Is. 10d., and this sum has not only enabled the Com- 1 tuittee to pay for the Organ, but to make necessary improvements, repairs etc. It was resolved to dedicate the Organ as soon as possible, and to appoint (annually) a, committee of five to manage the affairs of the School, and to urrange for social gatherings occasionally, the proceeds of which will be devoted to the School fund. Mr. G. F. Robinson, Mrs. Phillips, and the Superintendent (Mr. R. N. Toms) were appointed Organ Trustees; and Mesdames Bosworth, Devenish, and Phillips, and Messrs. G. F. Robinson and W. J. Shaw, School Committee. The Superintendent thanked the ladies of the Sunday School for the very valuable assistance they had rendered in raising funds for the organ. Special votes of thanks were passed to Mesdames Stapp and Robinson, and to Mr.' G. F. Robinson for their valuable help. All present joined in heartily thanking the Superintendent for the lively interest he had taken in the Sunday School. Although there was no provision made for music, the organists — Misses Stapp and Webster — played several selections during the evening, which were very much appreciated by all present. A most enjoyable and profitable evening was brought to a close by singing Onward. Christian Soldiers.
