Secretary, pro. tern. : Mr J. Buckle. rpiHE promoters of this Association wish to L bring before the public of Taranaki the great gains to be derived by establishing in their midst a Company, to be worked purely on Co-operative principles, having for its object the furtherance of farming interests, and also offering a great financial saving to each individual member of the public who may become a shareholder. The promoters have great confidence in bringing this Association before the public, as similar Co-operative Institutions have been most successful in all parts of the world. Amongst the important objects of the Association are the following :—: — To proenre for its members greater facilities than at present exist for the shipping of their produce, live stock, and cariases to the consuming markets of the world. This the Association will do by exporting the produce for its shai-eholders at the lowest rates in chartered ships, by allowing shareholders advances at low rates on the produce so shipper), and on produce deposited with the Company for shipment-or sale. The promoters think this will be of the greatest advantage, as the rates usnally charged in Taranaki are excessively high. * The export of carcases and dairy produce by the refrigerating process will be one of the objects of the Association. Great benefit also will be found in that the Association will procure Cornsacks, Woolpacks, Agricultural Implements, Seeds, and all articles of consumption that may be in demand by its shareholders, at the lowest rates. By these means a great saving will be effected, as the prices in New Zealand of all articles of husbandry and of general consumption are far in excess'of the prices at the placa of mannfactnre. The Association will undertake any business and make all arrangements that may be necessary with other firms for the furtherance and better carrying out of its objects. The Directors aTe empowered by the Articles of Association to make advances to its i shareholders on landed property and other { securities. I The benefits derivable from the Association j will be strictly confined to its shareholders. The profits of the Association, after paying interest at the rate of 7 per cent, per annum on paid-np capital, will be divided amonjrst all the shareholders pro rata. according to the i amount of business done with the Association by each shareholder. A Meeting of the Provisional Directors will be held at the Criterion Hotel, New Plymouth, ! on Saturday, the 9th September, when the Shares then applied for will be allotted, and the date fixed for the General Meeting of Shareholders, to appoint Directors, and to settle the Articles of Association. I Forms of Application for Shares and information may be had at the Olßces of tbe National Bank. New Plymouth, or from any of the Directors. Intending applicants can peruse the proposed Memorandnm and Articles of Association at the National Bank, New Plymouth, and the Bank of New South Wales, Hawera. Mr. John Buckle will, before the Meeting to be held on the 9th September next, visit the towns and districts of Taranaki to receive applications for Shares, and to give any information as to the objects of the Association that may be required. a 524 tc hb OWEN AND GKAHAM HAVE ON HAND AND TO ARRIVE— Wk E.
