AUSTRALIANS V. ALL ENGLAND. [redter's telegrams.] The following are fuller particulars of this match : — The cricked match — All England versus Australia — was resumed on Tuesday, at Kennington Oval, in the presence of an enormous number of spectators, though the weather was showery. In consequence of rain, the wicket was heavy. The Australians commenced their second innings by sending in Bannerman and Massie, the former being caught for 13. Murdoch then joined Massie, and the two soon commenced to run up the score. Massie was batting very freely, and had put together a splendidly played 55 when i lie w;is bowled. Mnrdoch remained at the wickets a little longer, and had contributed 29 when he was run out. None of the other batsmen made any stand, and the remaining wickets fell rapidly, the innings finally closing for 122 runs. The fielding of the Englishmen throughout was excellent, and the bowling of Peate was capital. The Home team then requiring 85 runs to win, went in for their second innings. Messrs. Hornby and Grace taking their places at the wickets. The latter played a good innings for 32, when he was caught. The other batsmen — Ulyett, 11 ; and Hon. A. Lyttleton, 12 — were the only men to contribute double figures. None of the other players could make any stand against the splendid bowling of Spofforth and Boyle, who did great execution, four of their opponents failing to score at all. The innings finally closed for 77 runs, the Australians thus winning the match by 7 runs. The excitement towards the close of the game was very great, and the greatest interest was taken by the spectators, by whom the play of the Australians was much admired.
