ANOTEER CASE OF INCENDIARISM. Christchurch, August 29. The alarm created at Akaroa by the fires yesterday has been intensified by another fire this morning. Shortly before two o'clock the Somerset Hotel and outbuildings, situated at the head of the bay, were burnt to the ground. In this instance the incendiary had to deal with ar: empty structure, no one so far as is at present known had recently been living or sleeping on the premises, owing to the fact that the landlord had neglected to obtain a renewal of his license. It is supposed that this new act of incendiarism is the work of one and the same person who fired the hotels at Akaroa yesterday. The buildings were insured in the London, Liverpool and Globe office. A DIVORCE CASE. I Dunedin, August 28. In the Divorce Court Judge Williams granted a rule nisi for a dissolution of marriage on the petition of Grace McNab Stuart, wife of Thomas Kendall Stuart. There was no appearance of respondent. The respondent married petitioner in 1878 for her money, and finding it locked up he commenced a course of illfcreatment. After this a separation was drawn up, the petitioner getting rid of her husband by giving him £400, after which he left for Invercargill, and had led a life of immorality, leading to the present proceedings. RELEASED FROM GAOL. Dunedin, August 29. Dr. Moffat, who was sentenced at Invercargill some time ago to two years' imprisonment, was yesterday released from gaol by order of the Minister of Justice on account of ill-health. It is stated that he has lost the sight of one of his eyes. SNOW AT TNVEBCABGILL. Invercargill, August 29. The snow on the ranges at the head of the Mataura and the Waikata is heavier than any previously seen, and the rabbits in the high country are perishing by thousands.
