The Australian cricketers commenced a mutch on Monday against Eleven of Somersetshire, at Tauntou. 'Ihe weather was fine, and there was a largo attendance of spectators. The visitors went in first, und scored rapidly, making 245 runs before they could be disposed of. The principal scorers were — Bannerman, caught. 50 ; McDonnell, bowled, 48 ; and Blackham, not out, 43. After ihe usual adjournment, the Home team commenced tiieir first innings, and, when lime w. n .s called, had scored 86 runa for the loss of 5 wicketa
