Melbourne, June 9. In the action— the Union Steamship Company of New Zealand v. Melbourne Harbour Trust- -for damages sustained by the steamer Botorua in October last, when her propellor was stripped and her rudder damaged by fouling with the anchor chain of a dredge in midstream in the Yarra Kiver, a nominal verdict was returned to-day, after a protracted trial, for defendants. Leave was granted, however, to plaintiffs to apply to a full Court to enter a verdict for £52 10s., the amount of damages sued for. Arrived (this morning) ; Union Co.'s steamship Botorua, from the Bluff. Sydney, June 9. Arrived (this morning) : Union Co.'s steamship Hero, from New Zealand. New Zealand wheat is quoted at 6s. Bd. and New Zealand oats, Bs. 10d.; niaize, ss. 7d. Sugar Co.'s No. 1 pieces, £85 per ton. The Union Co.'s steamship Arawata, shortly after leaving the wharf last evening, ran into and sank the brig Sea Nymph, 289 tons, of this port. The crew of the brig were rescued, and I landed at Fort Macquarie, and the
Arawata then resumed her voyage. It is stated that at the time of the collision ] the lights of the Sea Nymph were hid- < den by a ketch and could not be seen | by those on board the Arawata. ; Adelaide, June 9. , Wheat is unchanged at os. to 6s. Bd., and the market is firm ; town flour per ton, £14 ; country brands, £13.
