TROTTING MATCH.
A TROTTrNa MATHI (with buggies) came off ve^terday afternoon between Mr. Albert Bayly'* niarc Ratio, mA Mr T. TtoooolVo pony. The distanco four miles — from BpII Block to town — Mr. Russell's pony receiving a quarter-mile start. Mr B. Humphries acted as Mr. Bayly's umpire, and Mr. Charles Coomber officiated for Mr. Russell. A start was made from Bell Block at 3 p.m., and the horses came away at a good rate. Russell's pony broke •everal times before reaching the Henui Bridge; and Bayly's mare, which had been going at a steady pace all the way, parsed the pony near the Henui. Mr. Bayly's mare broke shortly after passing the Henui, but she came in an easy winner. Time, ISmins. Considerable interest was manifested in the event, and some money changed hands.
