TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB.

A general meeting of the Taranaki Jockey Club was held on Wednesday evening at the White Hart Hotel, when Mr. Bauchope was voted to the chair.

A letter was read from the Secretary of the Dunedin Jockey Club respecting the removal of a disqualification.

Mr. Vavasour proposed, Mr. Williamson seconded, and it was carried, " That Mr. Byrnes be disqualified from riding orrnnning hcrscs on the Taranaki course until he has paid his entrance fees due to the Club.

Mr. Burd was duly elected a member of the Taranaki Jockey Club.

The following programme, drawn up by the Committee, was submitted to the meeting and appro red of:—

First Dat.— aUicien Plate, £50 ; Steeplechase, £80 ; Taranaki Jockey Club handicap, £300 ; Champagne Stakes, £50 ; Taranaki Cup, £60 (second horse stakes, £4). Second Day.— Hurdles, £50 ; Hack Race, £10 ; Autumn Handicap, £150 ; Ladies' Purse, £40 ; Connty Handicap, £50 ; Consolation Stakes, £30. Total stakes, £874. A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the business.
