BRITISH AND FOREIGN NEWS[PKOM OUR OWN' CORRESPONDENT.] MEETING OF IrtlSH BISHOPS. London, September 28. A meeting of Irish Bishops has been held, at which resolutions were pas c ed giving" expression to the opinion that the authors of the Irish Land Act were entitled to the gratitude of the tenants, and recommending the latter to utilise folly the benefits provided by the measure, and warning 1 them against secret agencies or any act ot violence and intimidation. Resolutions further expressed the opinion that it is desirable that an _a,mnesty should be granted to the prisoners rio\v in custody under the Ooer_cion Act.
