Our Egmont Village correspondent sends us an account of another entertainment which took place in the school-room. The singing was fully up to the previous entertainments. We hear great complaints from persons travelling on the road between Inglewood and Stratford of the way in which it is cut up by wagons, making it dangerous for other kinds of vehicles. We call attention to the fact in order that the Road Board of the district may look into the matter.

EDUCATION BOARD. - A committee meeting of the Board was held on Monday last, for the purpose of enquiring into the connection of the Board's architect (Mr. Taylor) with contractor Rowe. Present: Yen. Pie stated that he considered he was entitled to charge contractors for quantities supplied by him. He repeated the evidence given by him in the R. M. Court in the case Rowe p. The Education Board. It was moved by Mr. Syme, seconded by Mr. Andrews, and carried, " That having carefully considered the architect's action in the matter relating to Mr. Rowe's contract for the erection of school-houses in Courtenaystreet and Cameron-street, the Board is of opinion that the architect committed a mistake in entering into a sub-contract with Rowe, and that it is desirable that the architect's duties for the future shall be clearly defined by the Board." On the motion of Mr. Faull, seconded by Mr. Syme, it was resolved, •' That the Board's architect be not allowed to sub-cowtract or execute work of any kind over which he has supervision.
