Finally Mr. Parneli and all his adherents were by tho Speaker's order expelled from the House, and tho discussion on the measure is now proceeding quietly. afternoon. The debate on the Irish Coercion Bill has been further postponed. The proceedings, after the expulsion of the Irish obstructionists, were of the ordinary character. LAND LEAGUER ARRESTED. Michael Davitt, who has recently returned from America, where he has established branchesof the Land League, has been arrested in Ireland on a charge of sedition. IRISH PARTY EXPELLED FROM THE HOUSE. London, February 5. The expulsion of Mr. Parnell and his followers from the House was proposed last night by Mr. Gladstone, who moved that expulsion and nothing less would suffice to restore order. The motion was carried, and the Speaker gave orders that the obstructers should be expelled. An unexampled scene of riot and disorder ensued. Many of the members who were ordered to retire resisted the officers of the House. Mr. Dillon opposed violently, and was forcibly expelled. Finally all tbeobstructors left the Chamber, and order was restored. IRON-HAND MOTION PASSED. Shortly after the Irish obstructors ' id been expelled, the House discussed Mr. Gladstone's resolution, that a majority of three-fourtbs, on the passingof a motion of "urgency," should saffice to give the Speaker supreme control. The motion was slightly modified and adopted. IRISH COERCION BILL. The Coercion Bill was then declared "urgent," in order that the Speaker might have full power to put down obstruction to the disenssion j and the debate waß resumed. AGITATION AGAINST COERCION BILL , Mr. Parnell has issued a manifesto, urging his followers to act with calmness, and promises a renewed fight against the Coercion Bill in. Parliament. DAVITT SENTENCED. It has been decided by the authorities that Michael Davitt, the League agitator, wbo was arrested yesterday, shall complete the term of penal servitude to which he was sentenced some time ago. ASHANTEES THREATEN WAR. The Daily News publishes to-day a telegram stating- that the Ashantees threaten war ngainst the settlers and natives in the British Colonies of Sierra Leona, on the west coast of Africa. The telegram further states that, in consequence of the attitude of the Ashantees, a detachment of the Ist West India Regiment stationed at Sreeto.wn has been ordered to proceed to the border to oppose the attack. BANK RESERVE. Tbe total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £14,125,000. WOOL SALES, The next series of wool sales open on the 15th instant. The arrivals to date for auction amount to 198,000 bales. The total probable quantity to be offered is expected to be 300,000 bales. TURKO-GREEK QUESTION. Constantinople, February 3. In reply to the representations made by the ambassadors of tbe Powers, the Porte declines to state beforehand the maximum concession which Turkey is prepared to make to Greece in Bpirus and Thessaly, but is willing to negotiate in regard to the demands put forward bj Greece.
