The Intercolonial Conference met aw'ain to-day. The report of the Select Committee appointed to enquire into the powers possessed by the High Commissioner for the Western Pacific, was brought up and adopted, with a view to representation being made to the Home Government on the subject. A motion in favour of colonial free trade in wines was introduced, but rejected. The question of the rejection of Chinese immigration throughout the Colonies waa again under consideration, and considerable difference of opinion on the subject was shown. Victorian and New South Wales representatives favoured the adoption of a draft bill which was before the Caoference, but the Tastnanian, South Australian, and New Zealand delegates supported the bill which is iv operation in Queensland. The report of the committee appointed to prepare a memorial to the Imperial Government ou the subject of the Western Australian scheme for the introduction of Chinese was brought up and adopted. It was further decided to snbmic the same to the Secretary of State for the Colouies.
