HAWERA.

[teleopaphed by our correspondent.]

SURVEY OF THE WAIMATE PLAINS. July 9.— There are now three parties of surveyors on the Plains, besides those cutting reserves, and in a week or so two more parties will be put on the survey coastward from Miini Road. The old surveys will not be altered, but the lines have to be recut, and many sections re-pegged. It is believed that the Maoris have stopped sowing wheat on the road by Parihaka. A portion of the Plains is expected to be in the market in three months. Mr. Parris is Acting Judge of Native Lands Court, Patea. A great number of natives have assembled there.
