LAND SALE AT HAWEBA. We are indebted to the Crown Lands Commissioner (Mr. C. D. Whitcombe), for the following further particulars relative to the land sale at Uaweva : — Captain Wray, District Land Officer, acted as auctioneer, and disposed of forty allotments, consisting of 3.483 acres. The full vulue realised was £12,501, the average being £3 12s. per acre. The two sections that fetched the highest prices were Section 43, block 1. Hawera, £7 p:;r acre ; and Section 44, block 1, Hawera, £7 10s. per acre. The land was on the deferred payment system, and of course only 10 per cent, was paid on the above amount.
