NOTICE. ANY person or persons found INJURING ibe TELEGRAPH POSTS, WIRE INSULATORS, or any portions of the Telegraph Line, will be prosecuted in acoordanco with the following Clauses of "The Malicious Injuries to Property Act, 1867 :" — CriAUSE XXXVII. — Whosoeyer shall unlawfully and maliciously oat, break, throw, down, dostroy, injure, or remove any battery, machinery, wire, onble, poet, or other matter or thing whatsoever, being part of or being ueod or employed in or about any Electric or Magnetic Telegraph, or in the working thereof, or shall unlawfully and maliciously prevent or obstruct in any manner whatsoever tho Bending, conveyance, or delivery of any communication by any such Telegraph, ehall be guilty of a misdemeanour, and, being oonvioled thereof, shall be liable, at tho discretion of tho Court, to be imprisoned for any term not exoeeding two years, with or without bard labour : Provided that if it shall appear to any Jostioe, on the examination of any person charged with any offence against this section, tbat it is not expedient to the unds of justice that tho same should be prosqouted by indictment, the Justice may prooeec summarily to hoar and determine the same, nnd the Offender shall on oonviction thereof, at the discretion of the Justice, either be com* mitted to some public gaol there to be imprisoned only, 'or to be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for any term not exoeeding three months, or else shall forfeit and pay such sum of money not exceeding ten pounds as t~ tbe Justice shall seem moot.
