The Riverton correspondent of the Southland News says, on the best authority, that Mr. H. Hirst is agent for a man in Yorkshire who lays claim to all land in the district, being composed of a block purchased from Bloody Jack, <>f Howell's Point, and runniug alon^ the coast westward for twenty miles. There seems to bo some grounds for the claim, as a deed of purchase or gift is properly drawn up, and duly signed and registered in the Laud Office, at Sydney, and is dated three years prior io purchase, made in this part by Mr. Connor Man tell.
