Trespassing upon the Railway.— Mrs Uncles and James Corbwtt, juuior, wuro each Jinuii ss. auti coats 75., fur walking on the railway Hud between the engine shed and the Taranaki Hotel. Obstructing tub Footpath.— Edward Humphries was fiued ss. and coals 75., foi allowing two barrels to remain upou tho footpath in DevoQ-street, for a period exceeding thr«;e hours. Destitute Persons.— The Relieving Officer v. Edward Ljttleton for not supporting bis child. Defeudaut had not as yet been fontvl. Custody of Children*. — Mrs. Ncjil v. James Neal. Mr. Hamerton for the coin plainnnt, Mr. Halse for defendant. Tho com t was occupied during the greater part of the day iv hearing the evidence adduced by the parties, and ut tho conclusion of the. cas« made an order that that the six younger children he iv the custody oJ^he mother, and that the Dither pay twenty shillings per week towards tbu support of hid wife, aud fifteen shillings per week for tho six children.
WEDNESDAY, January 15.— Before 11. EyreKenny, Esq., R.M. Larceny. — George Harfonl was sentenced to seven dnys with hard labour for stealing outbottle of braudy from Edward Terry, from the shelf of the Wait am Hotel.
