A severe fight lasting for nine hours between the forces under Ismael Pasha and General Tergukasoff. The result was indecisive. Chefket Pasha is entrenched before Orchame. THE TRIPLE ALLIANCE. The President informed the Hungarian Parliament that a triple alliance involved Hungary in an obligation regarding the Eastern question. ' INDIAN FAMINE FUND. London, September 29. Two hundred and seventy thousand pounds subscribed towardsTndia Famine Fund. Two hundred thousand six hundred has been remitted to India. A CORRECTION. Bombay, September 25. Twenty-one thousand and not twentyseven thousand was the RussianRoumanian loss at Plevna. The rains in Bulgaria retard operations. RUSSIANS AGAIN DEFEATED. An unofficial despatch reports that the Russian centre, on the 25th, attacked Plevna again, and was defeated with very heavy loss. The Russians were compelled to fall back to the south of Jozkyi with heavy losses.
