WASTE LANDS BOARD.
The Board met on Monday, last, when the Waste Lands Commissioner (Mr. C. D. Whitcombe), presided. Present: Messrs. Crompton. Standish, and Syme. ' '
Tlie Deferred Sections Payment, — Mr, Standish asked if any reply had been received by the Deputy-Superintendent relative to the sections' the Board had, recommended should be withdrawn from cash sale?— Mx. Crompton said the last telegram hfe .had' received was merely, "Reply as soon asio^sible." Survey Parties going out. — Mr. tjROMPtOK said that three survey parties had' gone out, and another party would go shortly. Cost of tlie Swrcys. — Mr. SYmb asked' tbo Deputy Superintendent to get the ,Chief Sur; veyor to embody in his pext report what the cost per acre for surveying the land during the past year had been. This was necessary for their pricing thela'nd.
Jones and. Me Mill-Mi's, Land. — Mr. SYME asked if Jones and McMillan'B land was being surveyed ?— The CfiAiBMAN Ba^d Hi had heard nothing about it. He had been tpld that on the land were several Maori clearings. ' l
