Hokitika, September 5. Tue manager of the Freight Company bus written to tho Borough Council, intimating that the company has resolved on towing vessels in ballast for this port free of charge Tho .Council has decided that all tug boats belonging to the port, when towing in vessels in ballast, shall bo frco of port charges. It is understood that the eaw-inill proprietors
have agreed to subsidize the Tug Company by ' £1,000 per annum, for the towage of vessels with ballast inwards, and timber outwards.
