Wesleyax Church at Waitara.— We understand that Mr. H. Taylor's tender has bsen accepted for the removal and re-erection (with enlargements) of the Wesleyan Belt Road Church, to Waitara. The people of Waitara have displayed their usual liberality — nearly £50 having been promised for this purpose. The site chosen is on tho cast side of the township. It is expected that a young minister will reside at Waitara after the Conference, whjoh takes place next week. Prizes to Sunday School Scholars. — The Church Gazette for this month contains particulars of a late examination for prizes that are annually given by the Bishop of Auckland to tho Suuday school scholars iv his diocusc. There were sixty-nine competitors who were examined in the presence of the clergymen of the respective districts by means of printed papers. Two prizes are awarded to each school where there are as many candidates, if merited. We notice that Miss M, Scott, of St. Mary's School, New Plymouth" Ims gained one of the eighteen prizes awarded on this occasion. Church op England Services Tomorrow. — Services will be held to-morrow, at St. Mary's Church, at 11 a.m. and at C.30 p.m., by the Yen. Archdeacon Govett, who will also bo at Henui, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Mr. Colliß will be at Waitara, at 11 a.m., aud at Huirangi, at 2.30 p.m. Primitive Methodist Services Tomorrow. — Services will be held at the chapel in town, at 11 a.m., by Mr. W. Basset t; and at C.30 p.m., by Mr. H. Gilbert. Mr. E. Moyle will bo at Omata, at 11 a.m. A Trotting Match took place iv Auckland lately on the Ouchunga ttoad, between Mr. E. Perkins, publican, and Mr. A. DornwcU, butcher, for £100 a side. The distance was two and u-half miles. Mr. Perkins rode " Bay Jmly," and Mr. Dornwell "Charlie"' (pony). The match was won easily by the Litter. " Buy Judy" has lately been imported from Melbourne and was considered the fastest trotter in Australia, "bar"' none. She hns now been beaton by a rank outsider in very " outside"' time.
