BURNING OF TWO BRIDGES NEAR WANGANDI.

It was briefly anuouaced in our tolegrams on Saturday that the Kai Iwi and Okehu Bridges, near Wanganui, had Jbeen burnt by the natives. It was feared at- the time that they might be the bridges recently built ; but by intelligence since to band we learn that they are two unfinished ones near the sea, and whioh had been abandoned. An (inquiry is to bo made into the matter, but from what we can learn, the natives have long objected to these bridges being constructed, and as the Road Board was about to finish them, it is probable they have burned them down to prevent traffio passing that way.
